"You manage things, you lead peopleā€ - this quote of Grace Murray Hopper points out the difference between leadership and management. Leaders modify the behaviour of others in order to meet a common purpose and change the world for the better. A leader is a person or common purpose we follow to change and innovate. There are many definitions of leadership, but the one we like the most is the one of Anna Lartey, Director of Nutrition at Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), President at International Nutrition Society (IUNS). She participated in the African NLP in 2002 and according to her a leader has three main characteristics:

  1. A leader has a vision
  2. A leader has integrity
  3. A leader is a mentor
