Young Investigator Award 2011

During the 11th European Nutrition Conference (http://www.fensmadrid2011.com/) the ENLP will present a Young Investigator Award, to recognise the potential of young scientists to become European leaders in nutrition. The aim of this initiative is to encourage outstanding young researchers from Europe and from all fields of nutrition to develop their careers in nutrition and to establish a European network of future nutrition leaders.
Award > The winner will receive a cash prize of 1000 €, donated by the Judith Zwartz Foundation, Wageningen, The Netherlands.
Applicants > Candidates should be final year PhD students or postdoctoral fellows in human nutrition from a European Country, less than 35 years.

info[at]enlp.eu.com) a copy of their abstract accepted to be presented at the International Congress on Nutrition (Madrid, 26-29 October 2011)

Why is leadership important for the future of nutrition research? Describe the role you will play as a leader in nutrition research. A short paragraph (max 150 words) should be provided, in English,
before the 1 August 2011 (please note the deadline has now been extended to the 18 September 2011).
Evaluation of applications > The evaluation of applications will be made by a European committee of senior nutrition leaders. The decision will be based on the insight applicants show into their role as potential leaders as well as the quality, novelty and interest of the abstract presented at the 11th European Nutrition Conference. The final decision will be announced during the ENLP session, (27/10/2011 between 14.00-15.30). The award winner will be requested to write a one pager about his/her role as a leader in nutrition research and his/her impressions of the 11th European Nutrition Conference. The award winner will be asked to put the award-logo on the poster or in the presentation.

Furthermore, the ENLP aims

and following this Vision the ENLP organize leadership training programmes that initiate and catalyse possibilities to connect and inspire those with a desire to make a difference, and to organise high quality sessions at large international nutrition conferences and communicate about the ENLP to the external world.
