ENLP during 11th European Nutrition Conference

During the FENS meeting there will be an ENLP session on Thursday, 27 October, 14h00-15h30, with Mrs. Ellen Gustafson and Mr Lucas Simons as speakers. They will both bring their story, which will be followed by a brainstorm and debate session. The purpose will be to create some ideas on how to change the nutrition field so we are able to foresee enough nutritious food by 2050 when we have a population of 9 billion people.

ENLP Seminars in 2012

The European Nutrition Leadership Platform is a network of leading nutrition experts who share the same passions as you do. 

The Platform encompasses two Seminars: ENLP Seminar and ENLP Advanced Seminar.

ENLP Seminar 2012

Attending the ENLP Seminar (a 1-week course), held annually since 1994, will provide you with opportunities to develop personally and professionally. The ENLP Seminar provides the structure to develop as a future leader in your field. After the end of the seminar you will become an alumni member and you will be given the support to further enhance your leadership skills through continuing professional development activities. This is achieved through a varied and highly interactive programme, which includes role-playing, presentations, discussion groups and talks by leading European nutritionists. Most importantly, you will become part of a team that makes a difference.

The 30 participants at the programme are selected each year from final year PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, the food industry or government (age 35 or younger) and are all interested and active in food, nutrition and health at large, mainly from Europe. The selection process is undertaken by an international committee based on the individual's application to the ENLP.

ENLP Advanced Seminar 2012

The ENLP Advanced Seminar has been tailored to address the needs of mid-career professionals working in the food, health and nutrition area who hold senior management positions and face a number of challenges working in complex organizations. The ENLP Advanced Seminar will focus on topics related to the development of effective relationships, building trust, personal impact and reputation, leading teams, influencing others and decision making. The 1st ENLP Advanced Seminar will take place from 1 to 5 April 2012. The ENLP-Network would like to achieve its vision (To develop, inspire and connect leaders within Europe to advance nutrition and health) via Leadership training programmes that initiate and catalyse possibilities to connect and inspire those with a desire to make a difference. Initiatives in which we strengthen the network, organise high quality sessions at large international nutrition conferences and communicate about the ENLP to the external world.

Both Seminars are organised by a group of leading European nutritionists in close collaboration with major representatives from food industry and European nutrition organisations and societies. At the present time the course is organised by Wageningen University and mainly supported by Danone, Kraft Foods, Nestlé, DSM and Unilever (see ENLP Sponsors). Since March 2007, thirteen universities and institutes, who agreed to establish a formal alliance to promote research in Food and Health in Europe (ENABLE), are partnering the industrial sponsors of ENLP through direct funding when they have candidates who are successful in the ENLP selection process.
